I shot this session with Malisha and Bhavesh in Houston, TX a couple of weeks ago, my good friend Jesus Tirso of Decca Photography came along to help me with the lighting and the location scouting. I took about 20 images and another series of “images” to kinda show the session off a bit. We had a great time and i’m really looking forward to their wedding.
month: August 2008
A couple of months ago I photographed Pinali and Deven (a.k.a. Hollywood) down at the Mandalay Canals. The session as usual was a lot of fun and we came away with some excellent photos. Here are some photos from their portrait session followed by some images from their wedding a few weeks ago. Their wedding was at the GCS hall in Grand Prairie and Pinali herself designed her bridesmaids outfits and even the entire setup of the decoration. We have a couple beach session to do sometime in the near future and when that happens i’m sure you can see it here.

And here are some photos from their wedding..

I had a great time at your wedding guys, looking forward to the next time we meet up..
Ok besides taking cool photos I wanna lose a lot of weight and i’m not talking like 10 or 15 pounds i’ve challenged myself in this next year to drop like 80 pounds maybe even a full 100. So i’ve been working with a personal trainer and working out but not eating right. Yep still tacos and burgers for lunch and even a late night sandwich meal is the norm.
Well the problem is that most of us are not educated on how to eat right. Well I found this one site called SmallStep.gov, it has a lot of easy to remember and understand tips on how you can control your portions, eat right and also some alternatives to our usual culinary trappings.
Check it out and join me in my quest to get hotter and handsomer!!!
About 3 weeks ago I photographed Sandhya and Naresh’s wedding in Dallas and I have to say that they brought on style. The wedding took place at the DWF Hindu Temple with the reception at Dallas Renaissance Hotel with one of my favorite DJ’s.. drum roll for the man himself… DJ MAV. The wedding ceremony was fun and emotional at times, it has the perfect mix of style and elegance with their families there to celebrate and keep things fun. There are many images that are just awesome (shameless self promo here, I know….) but these images really stood out for me… So without further delay here are some of the images from Sandhya and Naresh’s wedding..
Rani Baweja putting the finishing touches on Sandhya’s hair. She did a great job with the make up, plus the chair she had Sandhya in looked VERY comfy.. LOL!!

The finishing touches being put on the make up, I don’t know why but I liked the texture of some fine art paper I bought so thought i’d try it here… I like it, gives the image a certain feel

Love the jewelry, the details in the dresses at indian weddings.

Sandhya entering the ceremony site at the DWF Hindu Temple

I don’t know the thoughts that were going through her mind but here Sandhya’s reaction shows how much she will miss her mom and dad.

The look she has in her eyes and the smiles on her parents face shows the tremendous amount of love shared between the three.

However when she looked at Naresh she was all smiles…

Here they are making the rounds of the agni, this is the 6th round, Naresh led Sandhya in the first 4.

I love shoes..

The couple departing for the reception.

The mehndi and the jewelry makes for some awesome detail shots.

The decoration at the hotel included some awesome flower settings.

Awesome cake as always from Elena’s Cakes..

The fruit tasted as good as it looks here.

More flowers!! They had tons of small personal touches to the reception that were just amazing.

The Ballroom looked awesome!!

Moncy (DJ MAV) added some uplights to provide accents on the wall

Right before the reception we sneaked away to do some couple portraits.

Sandhya and Naresh’s first dance..

Oh and yea these two really know how to dance..

I just love Sandhya’s smile during the toasts..

Sandhya and her dad during the father daughter dance. This is my absolute favorite shot!!

I can see where Sandhya gets her smile from.

So let’s say that one of the most amzing hotel in Dallas has this even more so amazing chandelier that is 4 stories tall? What do you do with it?

Well you take the amazing location and put in an equally amazing couple… then add in a bit of your own special touch.

Sandhya’s dad is a party animal, he was out there dancing and keeping up with the best of em.

I hate it when photographers just stand on the sidelines to photograph dancing. You just gotta get in there and dance with em.

I mean how else will you get this..

o this…

or this one…

Sandhya’s parents are walking her during the vidai (farewell) portion of the evening. Tons of emotions and tears during this part of the evening.

It’s not often that I come across something that seems fun and well, kinda cool… a friend of mine introduced me to the personalized Jones Cola bottles. If you don’t know Jones Cola, they are the ones with some fairly off beat flavors of pure cane soda. I personally love their Cream Soda flavor and the Root Beer (altough I found out that consuming 3 bottles of the Jones Soda in any combination within 5 minutes is not a good idea) and try to pick up a few bottles each time I head out to my other favorite place CENTRAL MARKET!!!! (ya’ll should really go there…)
Ok so back to point (see what happens when ya’ll get me talking about food?)
Go to this site… Jones Cola
here you can use any of your high resolution digital files that I give you (when you hire me for your wedding of course, hint… hint…) from either your wedding or your e-session or your bridal and get custom lables made, even put customized text on the back of the label if you wanna send these as gifts to family members.
What a cool idea.. I mean the soda is great, you know the images totally rock (yeah yeah I know modesty… LOL!!!) what a great combination that allows you to use your images in yet one more cool way.
I might start ordering a few cases with my favorite images and offering these at consults to beat the freakin Texas heat… see, one more reason to meet with me, besides to totally rocking images of course..
