My God I can’t believe I am saying this… I am actually rooting for the New York Football Giants to win this game. They have been amazing in the past few months and I gotta say they come to this game with a tremendous amount of momentum. The game is for the Giants to win and the Pats to lose and I hope they fall and they fall HARD!!!

I don’t really have a lot of love for the Giants during regular season, but right now I’m hating the PATS even more. To get the true feelings we now bring you the posting of a real Giants fanatic.. Ya’ll check out my buddy Desiree’s blog posting today to get the feeling…. www.dmdcphotography.com/wordpress she is a real Giants fanatic and i’m sure we’ll be dancing a jig tonight!!!

January 2nd through the 8th, I spent some quality time with some of the best photographers in the world during the annual internation photographer’s conference put together by the PPA. Not only was I in the company of some of the best photographers in the world, I was asked to mentor quite a few of them and also lead a few photo groups and help others expand their creativity.

It was an amazing experience that allowed me to reconnect with a lot of old friends and make a ton of new ones. Relationships of old were renewed and new relationships forged that I know I will cherish for years and years to come. I came away with a ton of ideas and will be implementing them shortly for all my clients.

Here are some images from a few of the sessions that I lead… It was kind of tough to get shots for yourself when you had 20 other photographers you were instructing but I managed to come away with a few..

I’ll post more images tomorrow once I get caught up with all the backlog of work.

So tomorrows game is big… no wait, it’s HUGE for the Cowboys, but you know what’s going to happen? They will fold like…. well something that folds quite easily and no i’m not talking about my new red textured velvet shirt. That thing is a nightmare to fold and, oh let’s just not go there.

So my prediciton for the game tomorrow? Giants by 3 cause Romo will fold like the aforementioned thing thats supposed to fold rather easily and is not my shirt that really does not fold that easily but I think i’m supposed to hang that shirt anyways..

You know???

This campaign ad by Mike Huckabee made me giggle… thought it would be worthy to post it on my blog.

I open my mail which has been collecting on my table for a week or so (I should check it more often huh??)…

It was the usual stuff, bills, bills, free oil change when you buy a car (SWEEET), oooooh 500 pounds of meat for only 45 dollars per week (better jump on that fat boy…) then I see this one envelope that looks like it has some cool stuff in it. I check it for contents and discovered that the minute I opened that envelope I was now an INTERNATIONAL AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHER.

Allow me to explain by showing you the actual letter…

WPPI Awards Letter

So you see, Weddings in Mexico and Canada = International; WPPI Awards = Award Winning… see I knew you’d see it my way..

BTW Special thanks to my hot and amazing models (real brides) Courtney Bui and Natasha Collins. For all those ladies who wanna have the most amazing day, hire me (I’m hot!!) and then get Natasha’s mom (Kathie Seeley of Grand Events). Kathie is one of those ladies who you hand over your day and she will totally rock your event.

Here are the winning images…

When my buddy Randal (www.djrandal.com) invited me to come photograph him at the debut of his new toyset I was slightly intrigued. He called this new “toy” the Rockstar Stage and that it was guaranteed to turn any reception into a full fledged rock concert full with live video feeds, killer lights and an amazing sound system.

Well an avid music fan and a sucker for killer lights I decided I would go photograph some publicity shots for Randal. Well ladies and ladies it’s safe to say that I wasn’t disappointed, the sound system was rocking and the rockstar set was something else.

Randal confessed to me that he had to hold back from the full compliments of lights cause the venue didn’t meet the power requirements for the full setup. Still I think it was an amazing display of lights, video and talent that is DJ Randal. Seriously folks, to make sure you never EVER forget your wedding, hire me and then hire randal so he can bring his rockstar set and get Shari Johns of As You Wish Events (www.asyouwishevents.com), who actually got a standing ovation from the guests for putting on such a killer event. aite??

Here are some photos to show ya’ll the colors I had to play around with…

A long time coming but a lot of my friends have come together to put this website up to educate people on what to look for when hiring a photographer. So far the only resources people could get their hands on was quite outdated and sad to say pathetic. I’ve had brides ask me questions that run the gamut, from if I will eat at the reception or if I used a flash on camera to if I will drink at the reception..

BTW the answers are as follows:

1. Rarely
2. Yes and I also use a flash off camera
3. No ladies your attempts to get me drunk will fail, yes I know I have auto focus but I still gotta click..

But seriously if you want honest answers to questions about photography, visit this site http://www.wedfog.com/ oh BTW I wasn’t paid to give this info out…

My current webhosting provider for the last time have proved their stupidity causing me to change webhosts. Taking advantage of this I have changed my e-mail address and soon the domain name from www.yasinphoto.com to www.humzayasin.com. While the website change is yet to be done, my new e-mail address h@humzayasin.com is now active. E-mails sent to h@yasinphoto.com will be automatically be forwarded to my new address for the next 90 days. Thank you.

Friend being the logo you see up above the top graphic. I finally bit the bullet and had Robin Ott (Graphic designer extraordinaire) do my logo and brand identity. She is an amazing artist with a great vision and for those who really want to take their branding up a bit should let her work on your marketing materials a bit. The logo is a perfect representation of my style a mix of the new world with a nod towards old school (Hey gotta keep the mom’s happy ya know).

I was sitting tonight and reading a book and this tought came to my mind – It’s ok to reap, just don’t forget to sow the fields for those that are yet to pass should find lush fields instead of barren land.

This is pretty much my philosophy and mentality with everything I do. I want to leave the world a better place than I found it. I also feel like I’m here because certain individuals gave me the support when I needed it the most. Now it is incumbent upon me to do the same to new talent in the industry and bring them up a bit.

I challenge each and everyone of you who reads my blog to go out and help someone today – give back a little and see how much you gain from that.

As always love and peace to you all.
