My web hosting company had a server crash today and wouldn’t you believe it that my e-mail account was on that server.   As it stands right now, I have lost one months worth of e-mail and currently the ability to send out e-mail.    If you had sent me something today (I got all the e-mails replied as of yesterday) please resend to my h@yasinphoto.com e-mail account please.

Thanks…

Now to go kill me a server administrator………………..

is Nature and all that comes with the territory.   When i’m not photographing things or people and not working on albums I like to get out in my garden/orchard (a VERY small one) and tend to the plants and the garden.   We’ve been having some strange rain patterns lately and it has been raining sporadically for the past 2 weeks.  I actually love rain and we’ll need the water we get now when it gets really HOT in a month or two.

Here are some photos of (yeah I know i’m still taking photos i’m horrible) of some of the things growing in my garden…

The skies before the rain moved in… lately we’ve had some pretty crazy skies here.

The elephant ears and the mint growing in my garden.  I need to go pull the grass growing in between.

My nectarine tree is bearing fruit, in a few weeks these will be ripe enough to enjoy.

My walnut tree came back to life late, I had almost pulled it out of the ground until the first rain breathed life into it and now it’s BACK!!

The dwarf lemon tree is bearing fruit, again two to three more weeks and these will be ripe enough to be harvested.

Firewood waiting to be chopped up prior to this winter.

I just love textures and this texture is kinda neat..

Ohhh must breat that in the morning before someone accidentally falls on it.

This cloud formation reminded me of the Time Warp ribbon from Star Trek Generations..

More mint, I tell ya this mint is growing like crazy in my garden and I’ll run over an occassional stalk with the lawn mower and you’ll have a minty fresh garden :-)

My buddy Randal Stout (amazing DJ by the way) posted a fun trend list for 2007 on his blog..  You guys can take a look at it here http://www.djrandal.com/blog/ in a bit, however it got me thinking of all the funny trends we have gone through in the photography industry…

Let me see if I can recall some of them….

Fog filter – puts a layer of fog on the entire image, nothing says romance like fog…
Star filter – I once knew a photographer who wanted his students to use a 6 sided star filter as it looked better than the 4 sided one..   i’m like ummmm  okie!!
Bride and Groom in the brandy/wine glass – this was cutting edge back in the day now it’s just plain silly
Bride with the marriage liscense around the grooms neck with a wink and a thumbs up – One word – silly.
Dad with his pockets out – come on dude we know you got the money, I mean this check you gave me is gonna clear right??

I’m sure there are more that will come to mind but I found these quite funny and out of these I have only done the Dad with his pockets out and that was only when the dad jumped in front of me and pulled his pockets out..  Rather strange behavior in the middle of the dance floor but hey whatever…

Ok now go to Randal’s blog and show him some love…

A lot of photographers that I know often go to some ridiculous measures to get industry recognition….   I have always believed in that if you do good work and treat your clients right that the work will follow and that the recognition that matters the most is the referals my clients send to me.  That is why I always go above and beyond on EVERY SINGLE wedding.  So far the praises and the accolades that I have recieved by my clients have been wonderful.  One thing I had no idea was that you guys were telling other folks including the brain trust over at the KNOT.   I guess what was told about me must have been good because I just recieved an e-mail that they have picked me as one of their top picks in the Dallas area..  This is quite an honor because I was picked on the basis of comments the KNOT recieved by my clients…   I love you guys!!  (just imagine a small tear drop rolling down my cheeks….)

Well, my client appreciation party is being planned as I type this right now I just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU….

This is the logo I get to put on my site now…  I just wished they had it in another color scheme…

Today I was going through my mail since I have been out of town on a regular basis due to conventions and weddings and came across a VERY touching card that Jessica and Greg sent me after their wedding.  This card made me realize why I do what I do.  Photography to me is not just my business buy my passion and my life because I get to document people and capture them for all eternity.  Guests, family and friends all dress up and are happy and I get to preserve that for my clients, what better gift can a man give to others?  Jessica and Greg are forever my friends and part of my inner circle of people that have truly touched me with their passion and love for each other and for all around them.  Looking forward to many many many years for friendship..

Here are a few shots of the card as their words truly truly make me glad I am a photographer and still not stuck in an executive office in corporate America…

Much love guys, see you soon…

I shot one of the most incredible couple this past Saturday… The entire wedding was non-traditional and all about being relaxed and having FUN!!!

Here is a shot of the couple after the ceremony..

You can see more images and read more about the wedding here..

Just in case you missed it, I was in Vegas all last week attending the WPPI convention and tradeshow to collect ideas, inspirations and products for my clients for this year.  I have to say that this has been a life changing event as I will be implementing some kick ass products and ideas for all.  To see the total recap along with some killer shots click here

Here are some pics, more in the link above…

This past weekend I shot an amazing wedding for such a sweet couple.  Jessica and Greg were the happy bride and groom and with them was their awesome family.  Their wedding was so well planned by Jessica that most weddings planned by professionals don’t flow as smoothly.  I think I see a career for Jessica as a wedding planner down the line if she wants it… LOL!!

I got some amazing light for the ceremony and the location was such a cool intimate historical home that it was hard getting things wrong.  Now there was a small accident when Jessica’s dress met some red wine but the wonderful staff at the venue had the situation well under control.  Here are some pics from the day for ya’ll to enjoy.

Craig Head House in McKinney, Texas.

I absolutely love the sky and believe it or not that morning we had predition of rain and it was overcast.  Jessica has connections in some VERY high places.

Greg brings with him a kind of charm that puts anyone at ease.  He is just so dang nice and just look how elegant he looks.

Here is Peyton posing for me as only she can…

This was the first time I met Gloria as she was at school when we did the family session earlier on in the year.

Derrick is just so full of life and we played a game where he tried to avoid being photographed but I think I got him once or twice during the day.

Ringbearer Derrick holding the ring VERY carefully…

The handsome Groom

The Girls!!

Right after the kiss is one of my favorite moments as there is no way to pose this or restage this, either you get this moment or you miss out.

Walking back to the carriage house after the ceremony.

The lovely couple minutes after the ceremony.  We were really running out of light after the ceremony as clouds started to move back in.

Oh and these guys know how to party.

I think Jessica is scared and I mean really scared, I have 6 shots of her petrified of being lifted in the chair.

Couple leaving after the reception…   I just loved how intimate the wedding was and how it involved the entire family at every stage of the day.  Congrats Jessica, Greg, Derrick, Peyton and Gloria…  You guys are truly one of a kind and god bless you all.

I wish I could paint like this young girl.  Just look at the texture and details on some of the painting.  Simply WOW!!!!!!
